I don’t know about you, but when a seasonal dish emerges at one of my favorite restaurants or coffee shops, I feel compelled to consume as much of it as possible before it departs until the next year.
This occurs most often around Christmas, when I’ve persuaded myself that calories don’t matter and that I can eat as many cookies as I want without consequence.
As you may recall, I have a fondness for Starbucks Cranberry Bliss Bars and have discovered a means to circumvent their seasonal availability. My second Christmas addiction is the Starbucks Peppermint Mocha, and although I may persuade myself that the calories don’t matter, the money spent on them does.
My bank account cannot endure a Christmas season at Starbucks, so it was another chance to create a homemade version to save money.
This is when Torani flavored sauces come in handy! I had just bought all of their seasonal varieties and was anxious to try the Peppermint Bark flavored sauce.
This proved to be the ideal complement for giving the drink a creamy peppermint taste without being overbearing.

How to make peppermint mocha at home
The purpose of this recipe was to make it fast and simple. Although I could use cocoa powder and sugar for the mocha ingredients, I had a few boxes of Swiss Miss hot cocoa mixes on hand and thought this would be a nice way to utilize them.
And, by golly, I was correct! It turned out great.
The most time-consuming component of this recipe is foaming the milk, so if you have the patience for that, you’ll be able to make one of these bad boys in no time. If you regularly stop for coffee in the morning, you don’t even need to get out of bed any earlier than usual.
You may even be able to sleep in a bit! When you press the snooze button, every minute counts, right?
How to make peppermint syrup
You may use 2 Tablespoons Torani Peppermint Bark Sauce, 1 tablespoon Torani Peppermint Syrup (as seen at Starbucks), or create your own!
See how to create your own peppermint syrup in this article.
You’ll need 2 ounces (1 tablespoon) per drink. You now have more for future peppermint mochas without having to do any more effort! This yields around 6-7 ounces of syrup, which you may measure out.
