This iced white chocolate mocha recipe is a sweet and creamy iced variation of my popular white chocolate mocha! On a hot day, this Starbucks knockoff recipe is ideal for serving over ice.
For years, my imitation Starbucks white chocolate mocha recipe has been one of the most popular, so I decided it was only right that I also offer my copycat Starbucks iced white chocolate mocha recipe!
The hot version is ideal for curling up next to a toasty fire on a frigid winter day, while the iced version is ideal for a caffeine dose on a hot summer day.

How to make white chocolate sauce
Fortunately, making your own white chocolate syrup is a simple process!
- Heat heavy cream in a small saucepan over low heat until it begins to bubble around the edges.
- Remove from the heat and whisk in the white chocolate and butter until creamy.
- Put to a heat-resistant container and place in the refrigerator to chill.
How to make iced white chocolate mocha
Pour a 16-ounce glass halfway with ice cubes (about 1-1.5 cups), then add milk, white chocolate sauce, and two shots of espresso (or cold brew coffee) and swirl to incorporate.
If you want, you may shake it in a cocktail shaker to blend instead of stirring! This approach gives it a frothy texture.
Use high quality white chocolate
I’ve said it so many times in so many postings, but it’s still true today and always will be: pick a good quality white chocolate that you like the taste of.
No insult to the companies who produce generic packs of white chocolate chips, but they are not of the quality required for this recipe. I always use chopped white chocolate baking bars.
Time for the toppings
You may now top it with whipped cream and any leftover white chocolate sauce. This clearly adds calories and sugar to the mix, but if you’re going to indulge yourself, treat yourself extremely well!
If you want to go really fancy, you could also add some white chocolate curls.
If you have excess mascarpone whipped cream, this is a terrific way to utilize it.
Add a straw and you’re all set
I happen to have these Grove Collaboration silicon straws that are more teal than the typical Starbucks green, but it’s near enough for me!
In general, a straw is a smart idea to avoid getting whipped cream and white chocolate sauce all over your face.
Make white chocolate sauce in a bigger batch
Do you like preparing iced white chocolate mochas? Make a bigger batch of white chocolate sauce and keep it in the fridge so you can use a little bit each time you make them.
Make the white chocolate sauce as directed in the recipe card below, but in the following proportions if you want enough for a week’s worth of drinks (assuming you use 1-2 teaspoons sauce for each):
- 7 oz. chopped white chocolate
- 7 oz. thick cream
- 2 tbsp unsalted butter3 1
