My top ten favorite soups for the chilly winter season that will definitely warm you up!
I believe we can all agree that winter is ideal season for soup. They get to be in the spotlight, everyone wants a piece of them, and almost every restaurant has some form of soup on the menu.
When I think of soups, I think of a wide category of warm things in a bowl. Soups, chilis, chowders, bisques, stews, and pho all count for me, and they’re all fantastic.
We’re all on the same side here, whether you like thin yet tasty broths like chicken noodle soup or thick and substantial soups like clam chowder. Well, Team Soup, let’s get started! These are my top 10 favorite soups to get me through long, bitter winters, and they do a better job of warming my spirit than that soup book (Chicken Soup for the Soul, if you didnt catch my drift).

Creamy Chicken Tortellini Soup
I like a delicious soup with pasta. I believe that the more spaghetti, the better.
Green Chili Chicken Enchilada Soup
I also like crunchy things in my soup. I’m known to put croutons into my soup just before I eat it, so tortilla strips are right up my alley.
Tuscan Kale, White Bean and Sausage Soup
Veggies, vegetables, and more veggies, but also Italian sausage, which is meant for soup in my opinion.
French Onion Soup
What is it about French onion soup that makes it so delicious? Well, remember, it’s cooked with cheesy bread. Literally.
Slow Cooker Chicken Pot Pie Soup
Something about this soup really talks to me on a deep and warm level. Maybe it’s the heart-shaped pie crust croutons, perhaps not (but it probably is).
Portuguese Seafood Stew
I’ll be in New Orleans for business next week, and I’m craving crawfish (and beignets, but those arent soup).
Butternut Squash Soup
Every year for Thanksgiving, as well as odd Wednesdays, I make this because it’s fantastic and I just need it all the time, okay?
Spicy Almond Chicken Pho
Is it genuine? I honestly don’t know, but it takes good, and that’s all that matters. It’s also gluten-free!
Easy Lobster Bisque
This would not be an acceptable list if I did not include my all-time favorite soup: lobster bisque. After all, I am in New England.
Instant Pot Carrot Ginger Soup
A bit blatant self-promotion here, but it’s fantastic (if I do say so myself). You could eat this today and thank me later if you use a stovetop or an Instant Pot. No, truly, it’s fantastic.
