A pleasantly colorful and delicious assortment of sorbet and sherbet with a humorous name, ideal for a hot summer day!
Guys. GUYS. I have some exciting news that includes puns and purchasing locally (well, local to me at least). The gist of my narrative is that social media has the power to unite individuals via their love of puns.
The short version is this:
If you follow me on social media, you may have seen that I have dubbed Fridays #foodpunfriday and have shared some of my favorite food puns. A few weeks ago, I got into a Twitter debate with the ever-funny and punny Pun Pantry.
You should look them up if you haven’t already. It’s difficult to choose a favorite item from their store, but I’m a huge lover of this Incredible Cider-Man shirt. I mean, really.
Anyway. One of the Pun Pantry founders and I got to chatting and felt that there was a chance for us to collaborate to share our passion of cuisine and puns. They come up with fantastic jokes, which I convert into cuisine. So, essentially, it provides me an excuse to be as eccentric as I am.
As part of that new cooperation, I present Miley Citrus Rainbow Sorbet, the first of many new dishes devoted to the art of puns.
So, I’ll be honest and confess that I’m going a little fast and loose with both rainbow and sorbet. Technically, this isn’t a whole rainbow of colors, nor are all of the tastes sorbets (a few include coconut or almond milk, making them more of a sherbet). Oh hey, I came very close, so I’ll take it as a victory!
I just wanted a bright display of frozen snacks that would be ideal for a hot summer day. My personal favorite in terms of flavor is the strawberry, but I like the kiwi and its gorgeous green hue, speckled with seeds.
The name is intended to be a playful play on Miley Cyrus’ name as well as a tribute to her most recent hit, Malibu. I’m not a fan of her music, but I will admit that the song is catchy. Don’t you think this is just what you’d like to dig into when burrowing your toes into the sand on a Malibu beach in the summer sun?
As Im attempting to lose weight and keep it off (means eating little to no ice cream filled with all my fave ingredients waaaaaah), it sure is for me.
